Carolyn Elston Masnari has a belief in the essential importance of art. She has been on a long journey to perfect her craft and to participate with the community in the creation process.
Carolyn Graduated from Western Michigan University with a B.S. in art and with a concentration in painting in 1988. She has taken three portrait seminars with international portrait artist John Howard Sanden (a founder of one of the nations finest portrait groups, Portraits Incorporated).
She has painted many portrait commissions and has many private collectors. She has been part of many shows and Art Gallery exhibits.
Carolyn was director of Internationl Fine Arts and South Street Gallery, two art galleries that were located in Kalamazoo Michigan.
She also worked as an art consultant placing art works in business's offices and restaurants. She represented a mural artist obtaining a series of commissions for his work for a factory in South Western Michigan. She represented Grand Rapids artist Ralph Scharf, placing his work with Mattel Toy Company, Upjohn Pharmaceuticals and other collectors.
She taught art classes at Carnegie Center in Three Rivers Michigan, Flint Institute of Art, Art Craft stores in Royal Oak and Waterford Michigan and also was a substitute teacher in the Waterford School system as a specialist in art. Her most recent classes were at the Art Experience located in the Summit Place Mall in Pontiac Michigan.
She specializes in portraits, floral's, and abstracts. She recently has done a series of figure paintings of women in formal gowns.
She resides in the Detroit, Michigan area and is currently available for commissions and teaching assignments.
